Lopatin Mountain

the highest point on Sakhalin Island, in the northern East Sakhalin Mountains, Sakhalin Oblast, RSFSR. Elevation, 1,609 m. Lopatin Mountain is composed of metamorphic rocks; its slopes are covered with taiga, and its crest with Siberian dwarf pine. It was named in honor of I. A. Lopatin.
