Kisegach

 

a climatic-balneological and mud-bath health resort in the RSFSR, 90 km from Cheliabinsk and 6 km from the Chebarkul’ railroad station on the Ufa-Cheliabinsk line. It is located in the Southern Urals, on the isthmus between Lakes Bol’shoi Kisegach and Malyi Gerenkul’. Summers are moderately warm, with average July temperatures of 18°C, and winters are moderately cold, with average January temperatures of –16°C. The annual precipitation totals about 630 mm. Therapeutic remedies include the sapropelic mud of Lake Boliash and artificial mineral baths (carbonic acid, hydrogen sulfide, radon baths). Patients suffering from diseases of the organs of motion and support, disorders of the nervous system, and circulatory ailments are treated here. Kisegach has a sanatorium, a hydropathic facility, a pelotherapeutic facility, and an aerosolarium. A sanatorium for patients suffering from active forms of pulmonary tuberculosis is located nearby.
