Mandelstam plane

[′mänd·əl‚shtäm ‚plān] (particle physics) A method of plotting energy versus scattering angle of three reactions, each having two particles both before and after scattering, which can be derived from each other by the crossing principle; the three reactions are on an equal footing, and poles in the scattering amplitude representing exchanged particles lie along straight lines.
