Moldavian State Regional Electric Power Plant
a steam power plant in the settlement of Dnestrovsk in the Moldavian SSR. It has a capacity of 1,600 megawatts (eight turbounits with a capacity of 200 megawatts each). There are eight boiler units, each producing 640 tons of steam per hour. The basic fuel is Donbas coal. The water-supply system recirculates water from a cooler-reservoir. The power plant is linked with the integrated energy system of the south, which in turn forms part of the integrated energy system of the European USSR, and with the integrated energy system of Bulgaria. Construction of the power plant was begun in 1961 and completed in 1971.
