Moldotau

 

a mountain range in the Inner Tien-Shan, in the Kirghiz SSR, south of Lake Sonkel’. It extends from west to east, between the valleys of the Kekemeren, Sonkel’, and Naryn rivers. Length, approximately 150 km; elevations, to 4,100 m. The mountain range is composed primarily of limestones. Mountain steppes and meadows grow on the lower slopes; higher up there are small spruce forests and Jupiter stands.
