Kiyoshi Inoue

Inoue, Kiyoshi

 

Born Dec. 19, 1913. Japanese historian. Graduated from the University of Tokyo in 1936.

In 1951, Inoue became a member of the Central Committee of the League for the Emancipation of the Buraku (buraku are the settlements of a former caste of pariahs known as eta). He is also a member of the Society for the Study of History and the Association of Democratic Scholars. He has written a number of works on modern and contemporary Japanese history.
