a river in Amur Oblast, RSFSR, a right tributary of the Selemdzha (Amur River basin). It is 305 km long and drains an area of 16,700 sq km. Originating in the Dzhagdy Range, it flows through the Amur-Zeia Plateau. The river is fed primarily by rain. High water lasts from May to September. The mean flow rate 141 km from the river’s mouth is 128 cu m per sec. The Nora freezes over in November and thows in May.
