There are no formalspecifications but UCB's 4.2BSD Unix implementation on theVAX is the de facto standard. UCB's implementation of the Internet Protocol includestrailers to improve performance on paged memory managementsystems such as VAXen. These trailers are an exception tothe Internet Protocol specification.
