Ondava


Ondava

 

a river in eastern Czechoslovakia; a right tributary of the Bodrog River (Danube basin). Length, 112 km; drains an area of about 3,400 sq km. The Ondava rises in the East Beskids and crosses the Ondava Upland. High water occurs in spring. The average water discharge in the lower course is 22 cu m per sec. A large reservoir and a hydroelectric power plant are on the upper course. The city of Hencovce is situated on the Ondava.
