KLF3

A gene on chromosome 4p14 that encodes a protein belonging to the Krüppel-like family of transcription factors. KLF3 primarily represses transcription through the transcriptional co-repressor C-terminal binding protein (CtBP); it is mediated in part by sumoylation, a post-translational modification of proteins involved in various cellular processes, including nuclear-cytosolic transport, transcriptional regulation, apoptosis, protein stability, response to stress and progression through the cell cycle.
