It is a coal center in the Kuznetsk BasinKuznetsk Basin,coal basin, c.10,000 sq mi (25,900 sq km), W Siberian Russia, between the Kuznetsk Alatau and the Salair Ridge. Its abbreviated name is Kuzbas.
