Mikhailovgrad
a city in northwestern Bulgaria, on the Ogosta River; administrative center of Mikhailovgrad district. Population, 43,000 (1973). It has electrical engineering, instrument-making, textile, and food industries. A highway links Mikhailovgrad with the city of Lorn, a port on the Danube. The city was named for Kh. Mikhailov.
