apparent place

apparent place

The position on a celestial sphere centered on the Earth, determined by removing from the directly observed position of a celestial body the effects depending on the observer's location on the Earth's surface – atmospheric refraction, diurnal aberration, and diurnal parallax. It is the position at which the object would be seen from the Earth's center, displaced by planetary aberration and referred to the true equator and equinox.
