(People’s Freedom), a daily newspaper, the principal organ of the Hungarian Socialist Workers’ Party. Founded on Feb. 1, 1942, as the organ of the Communist Party of Hungary, it was the organ of the Hungarian Workers’ Party from 1948 to 1956 and was called Szabad Nép (Free People). Népszabadság is published in Budapest in Hungarian. Circulation, 745,000 (1975).
