Miklukho-Maklai Coast

a stretch of the northeastern coast of New Guinea extending 300 km east from Astrolabe Bay. The coast is covered with tropical forests and rubber plantations. It was named after N. N. Miklukho-Maklai, who conducted research here in 1871–72, 1876–77, and 1883.
