Los Teques

a city in northern Venezuela, situated on a highway at an elevation of 1,169 m. Administrative center of the Miranda state. Population, 54,300 (1970). Agricultural raw materials are processed and textile and automobile assembly industries are located in Los Teques. Cocoa beans are traded. The city was founded in 1777.
