Location:South-central and southeastern Wyoming. Accessible by US 30 and 287; WY 130 and 230. Nearby cities/towns include Casper, Cheyenne, Encampment, and Laramie. North-central Colorado, accessible by US 40 and CO 125.
Facilities:Visitor center, 14 rental cabins and stations, 58 campgrounds, dispersed camping, picnic areas, boat ramps, lookout towers, scenic drives, ski areas.
Activities:Camping, fishing, boating, hunting, hiking, mountain biking, ORV riding, rock climbing, rafting, water skiing, cross-country and downhill skiing, snowmobiling.
Special Features:Encompasses portions of Medicine Bow Mountains, the Sierra Madre, and Laramie Range. Points of interest include sites with unusual geological formations (Devil's Playground, Turtle Rock, and Vedauwoo Glen), Black Mountain lookout station, and LaBonte Canyon.
