Manouvrier, Léonce Pierre

Born June 20, 1850, in Guéret; died June 18, 1927, in Paris. French anthropologist.

Manouvrier’s most important studies were devoted to the ratio of the weight of the brain to parts of the human body and to the comparative study of the weight of male and female brains. Proportions of the human body and variations in skeletal structure are studied in several works. Manouvrier developed a method for determining the length of the human body based on the size of the bones of the limbs.
