Molyneaux, James Henry, Baron Molyneaux of Killead,

1920–2015, Northern Irish political leader. A Protestant and strong Unionist, he served in the Royal Air Force during World War II and subsequently joined the Ulster Unionist party (UUP), becoming UUP leader in 1979. Molyneaux served in the British Parliament from 1970 to 1997 and strongly opposed the signing of the Anglo-Irish Agreement (1985), which gave the Republic of Ireland a say in the government of Northern Ireland, and the 1998 Good Friday agreement, and was suspicious of the 1994 cease-fire called by the IRA. He retired as UUP leader in 1995, and was created Baron Molyneaux of Killead in 1997.
