释义 | Mombert, AlfredMombert, Alfred(äl`frĕt môm`bĕrt), 1872–1942, German poet. He was briefly a lawyer and public official. His works, characterized by mysticism, fantasy, and simplicity of style, include Die Glühende [aglow] (1896), Die Schöpfung [the creation] (1897), Die Blüte des Chaos [the blossoming of chaos] (1905), the trilogy Aeon (1907–11), Der Held der Erde [the hero of the earth] (1919), and Atair (1925). A Jew, Mombert was arrested by the Nazis in 1940. He fell ill in a concentration camp, was released (1941), and died in Switzerland. |
