Medigap protection

(1) A term referring to a person’s right to buy a Medigap policy in certain situations after an open enrollment period ends.
(2) The right a person has in certain situations when insurers are required by law to sell or offer a Medigap policy, where the insurer cannot deny coverage or place conditions on the policy, must cover all pre-existing conditions, and cannot charge more for a policy because of past or present health problems.
