pale firm papules, most commonly on the trunk; miliaria profunda is asymptomatic and results from severe damage to the sweat ducts after repeated episodes of miliaria rubra. Heat stress may cause collapse because of the high proportion of nonfunctional sweat glands.

miliaria profunda

A form of miliaria seen almost exclusively in the tropics, frequently following attacks of miliaria rubra. The affected area is covered with pale, firm, painless papules 1 to 3 mm across. These papules do not cause itching. See also: miliaria
