Mukhavets

 

(Belyi Mukhovets), a river in Brest Oblast, Byelorussian SSR; a right-bank tributary of the Bug River. It is 150 km long and drains an area of 6,350 sq km. The river flows chiefly through the Poles’e. Its lower 52 km are canalized, and there is a nonoverflow dam at its mouth. The Mukhavets is navigable. It is connected with the Pripiat’ River by the Dnieper-Bug Canal. The cities of Kobrin and Brest and the Brest Fortress are located on the Mukhavets.
