Le Roy, Édouard
Born June 18, 1870, in Paris; died there Nov. 1, 1954. French scholar and idealist philosopher. Follower of H. Bergson. Representative of Catholic modernism. Member of the French Academy (1945). Professor of the Collége de France (from 1921).
Le Roy became famous for his attempt to rethink traditional Catholic dogma in the spirit of Bergsonian philosophy. He also studied mathematics, paleontology, and anthropology.
