Monclova

(mŏnclōvə), city (1990 pop. 177,792), central Coahuila state, Mexico. Situated on the northern end of the Sierra Madre Oriental, it is a regional commercial and industrial center. Monclova's chief industry is the production of iron and steel. It is the third largest city in Coahuila state.

a city in northern Mexico, in Coahuila State. Population, 99,000 (1969). It is a transportation junction and an important center of the ferrous metallurgy industry, which uses iron ore from La Perla and coal from Sabinas. There are also coke-oven and chemical (sulfuric acid) industries.
