Established: 1988.
Location:Southeast corner of Arizona.
Facilities:Auto tour route.
Special Features:Refuge includes Leslie Creek and its valuable riparian habitat, which supports a rare velvet ash-cottonwood-black willow gallery forest.
Habitats: 2,770 acres of rough mountainous terrain.
Access: A portion of the refuge is open daily during daylight hours; call refuge office for details.
Wild life: Endangered Yaqui chub and Yaqui topminnow. Also provides habitat for mule deer, mountain lion, Madrean alligator lizard, checkered and mexican garter snakes, gila monster and 270 species of birds.
