Military CampaignMilitary Campaigna stage of a war during which an intermediate goal is achieved. In each military campaign a number of strategic operations and other forms of military action linked by a common concept and conducted in one or several strategic sectors or in an entire theater of war are carried out. Names such as the “summer campaign,” the “winter campaign,”and the “campaign of 1944” are used to designate military campaigns. Campaigns that involve military actions by armed forces in one theater are sometimes given geographic names, such as the Bohemian campaign of 1866 and the Italian campaign of 1796—97. military campaign
