Lesozavodsk

a city (since 1938) in Primor’e Krai, RSFSR, located on the Ussuri River (a tributary of the Amur). A railroad station (Ruzhino) on the Khabarovsk-Ussuriisk line. Population, 37,000 (1972).

Lesozavodsk is a center for the lumber industry; it has sawmills, a hydrolized yeast plant, and a furniture factory. It is the site of a wood technology technicum and a medical school.
