in the armed forces of the USSR, official publications containing instructions on the combat application and operations of the combat arms, as well as on support provided by special forces for the combat action of the armed services. Military manuals are issued to supplement regulations and elaborate their basic provisions (for example, the Rifle Manual and the Manual on Fire Control of Ground Artillery).
