Multichamber Rocket Motor

a liquid-propellant rocket motor with several chambers and common fuel-supply and control systems. A multichamber rocket motor is shorter than single-chamber types of equal thrust, which makes possible a saving in the overall mass of the rocket; it also has advantages in the development of the rocket-motor chambers, but the design is more complicated. A solid-propellant rocket motor is some-times equipped with several chambers to provide stepwise variation of thrust.
