Leucaspius Delineatu
(Russian common name, verkhovka or ovsianka), a fish of the Cyprinidae family. Its length varies from 6 to 9 cm. It is found in Central Europe and the European USSR. Leucaspius delineatus inhabits such varied bodies of water as rivers, lakes, and ponds. It spawns in batches from May to July; the roe attaches itself to aquatic vegetation. The fish feeds principally on zooplankton and flying insects. It has no commercial value.
