Kokchetav Elevation

the Kokchetav Mountains, in the northern Kazakh melkosopochnih (area of low, rounded, isolated hills). Elevations, up to 947 m (Mount Siniukha).

The hills are composed chiefly of granites; they rise starkly over the surrounding terrain with numerous fantastic shapes caused by weathering. Hammock jointing of the granites is characteristic. Pine forests are encountered on the slopes. There is a series of lakes, including Borovoe, on the shores of which is located the health resort of Borovoe (now called Shchuchinskii).
