Megarelief

 

the aggregate of the largest irregularities on the earth’s surface. Several orders of megarelief forms are distinguished. The megarelief forms of the highest order are continental projections, transition zones, the ocean floor, and the midoceanic ridges. A classification of lower-order megarelief forms is contained in the works of V. E. Khain and E. E. Milanovskii and the works of D. G. Panov and N. V. Bashenina.
