Marampa

a city in Sierra Leone in the Northern Province. Population, approximately 12,000. Marampa is linked by a narrow-gauge railroad with the port of Pepel on the Atlantic Ocean. Iron ore is mined (more than 2.5 million tons per year) by the British Sierra Leone Development Company. There are oredressing plants in Marampa.
