Appellate jurisdiction

APPELLATE JURISDICTION. The jurisdiction which a superior court has to bearappeals of causes which have been tried in inferior courts. It differs fromoriginal jurisdiction, which is the power to entertain suits instituted inthe first in stance. Vide Jurisdiction; Original jurisdiction.
