Lev Borisovich Okun

Okun’, Lev Borisovich

 

Born July 7, 1929, in Sukhini-chi, Kaluga Oblast. Soviet theoretical physicist; corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1966).

Okun’ graduated from the Moscow Physics and Engineering Institute in 1953. Since 1954 he has worked at the Institute of Experimental and Theoretical Physics. His main work has been on the theory of elementary particles (theory of weak interactions, composite models of elementary particles, and so on).
