K0101500 (kō′nō′yĕ′), Prince Fumimaro 1891-1945. Japanese political leader who as prime minister (1937-1939 and 1940-1941) oversaw Japan's military expansion, sought to avoid American intervention in the Sino-Japanese War, and formed an alliance with Germany and Italy (1941).
