Kononovich, Aleksandr Konstantinovich

 

Born Jan. 31 (Feb. 12), 1850, in Taganrog; died May 5 (18), 1910, in Odessa, Ukrainian astronomer.

Kononovich graduated from Novorosiia University in Odessa in 1871. In 1886 he became a professor at the university. His principal works were devoted to the study of the laws of reflection of light from surfaces and the investigation of the physical conditions on the planets Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn.
