Karandeev, Konstantin Borisovich

Born July 5 (18), 1907, in the village of Napol’noe, present-day Muravlianka Raion, Riazan’ Oblast; died Sept. 21, 1969, in L’vov. Soviet scientist in electrical measurements and automatic control; corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1958), Honored Scientist and Engineer of the Ukrainian SSR (1954).

Karandeev graduated from the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute in 1930. Beginning in 1936 he taught in a number of educational institutions. He was one of the organizers of the Siberian Branch of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. From 1958 to 1967 he was the director of the branch’s Institute of Automation and Electrometry.

Karandeev was the founder of the scientific school in the theory of measurements and data measuring systems. He was awarded the Order of Lenin and medals.
