Erendzhenov, Konstantin Erendzhenovich

 

Born May 12, 1912, in the aimak of Baga-Chonosy, in what is now Tselinnyi Raion, Kalmyk ASSR. Soviet Kalmyk writer. People’s Poet of the Kalmyk ASSR (1972). Member of the CPSU since 1959.

Erendzhenov is the author of the novella Shepherd’s Song (1931). He has also written collections of narrative poems and lyric verse, short stories, and literary sketches, as well as the novel Guard the Fire (books 1–2, 1963–65). Erendzhenov’s books have been translated into other languages of the USSR.
