(1) A gene on chromosome 19q13.32 that encodes Meis homeobox 3, a homeobox protein belonging to the three amino acid loop extension (TALE) family of homeodomain-containing proteins, which are highly conserved transcription regulators.(2) This is also the retired HUGO symbol for what is now designated MEIS4, see there.
