Location:9 miles west of Sanford on SR 46.
Facilities:Primitive horse camping area with bathhouse/showers (é) and restroom (é); multiuse trails.
Activities:Horse camping, canoeing (must launch from outside locations), bicycling, hiking, horseback riding, wildlife viewing.
Special Features:Central Florida nature in its purest form is found in this preserve,which borders more than 6 miles of the Saint Johns River and 4 miles ofthe Wekiva River and Blackwater Creek. The area's system of blackwaterstreams and wetlands provides a habitat for black bear, riverotter, alligator, wood stork, and sandhill crane.
