Location:In Idaho's panhandle, 20 miles from the Canadian border.
Facilities:Visitor contact station (é), viewing sites (é), photo blinds, trails (é), auto tour route (4.5 miles).
Activities:Fishing, hunting, hiking, cross-country skiing, ice skating, educational programs.
Special Features:Several marked trails provide views of wildlife habitats and access to observation points and photo blinds. 220 species of birds and 45 species of mammals have been observed in the refuge.
Habitats: 2,774 acres of wetlands, meadows, riparian forests and agricultural fields.
Access: Open daily during daylight hours.
Wild life: Migratory waterfowl, including mallards, northern pintails, American wigeons, tundra swans, and Canada geese. Also provides habitat for mule and white-tailed deer, elk, moose, , yellow pine chipmunk, western jumping mouse, and black bear.
