Koplik spot

(kop′lik) [Henry Koplik, U.S. pediatrician, 1858–1927] Any of the small red spots with blue-white centers on the oral mucosa, particularly in the region opposite the molars; a diagnostic sign in measles before the rash appears. Not infrequently, the spots disappear as the rash develops.
