Kopore Gulf
Kopor’e Gulf
a gulf in the Baltic Sea, off the southern coast of the Gulf of Finland, in the territory of Leningrad Oblast, RSFSR. Kopor’e Gulf runs inland for 12 km; width at the entrance, 26 km; maximum depth, 20 m. The banks are low-lying, rocky, sandy in places, and covered with forest. Kopor’e Gulf freezes in winter. The gulf is named after the ancient Kopor’e fortress, located to the south.
