Melanopus

a variety of durum wheat with downy white ears with black awns and white grains. It is one of the most common varieties in cultivation in the world. Spring varieties of Melanopus grown in the USSR include Melanopus 26, 69, and 1932; Goliabu, a winter variety of Melanopus, is also grown.
