Korean Isthmus

an area in northern Korea, where the peninsula narrows to 160 km, between Korea Bay and Tongj-oson-man (East Korea Bay). In the western part of the isthmus are low plains; in the central part, the wooded mountain range Puktae-bong, with elevations to 1,833 m; and in the east, the Wonsan Plain.
