Korenovsk

a city (until 1961, the cossack settlement of Korenovskaia), center of Korenovsk Raion, Krasnodar Krai, RSFSR. It is situated on the Beisuzhek-Levyi River (a tributary of the Beisug), on the highway between Rostov-on-Don and Novorossiisk. A railroad station on the Tikhoretsk-Krasnodar line, 64 km northeast of Krasnodar. Population, 26,000 (1970). Korenovsk has a milk-canning combine, a sugar refinery, a brewery, a poultry-breeding hatchery, and a grain elevator.
