Korkodon

 

a river in Magadan Oblast, RSFSR, a right tributary of the Kolyma River. Length, 476 km; basin area, 42,800 sq km. The river rises in the Korkodon Mountain Range and flows between the Korkodon and Mol’katy ranges; in its lower reaches, it flows through a broad swampy valley. The river is fed by snow and rain. It freezes over in October and opens up again in late May. The principal tributary of the Korkodon is the Bulun River (on the right). The river is used for floating logs.
