Margenau, Henry

(1901– ) physicist; born in Bielefeld, Germany. He came to the U.S.A. as a graduate student, taught at the University of Nebraska (1926–27), then spent his career at Yale (1929–69). He made advances in spectroscopy and studies of intramolecular and intranuclear forces, wrote extensively on the philosophy of science, and was a consultant for the Time-Life science series.
